New Zealand - Start of the South Island! (Jan 16)

The morning that we headed to the South Island was an early one. We had to get up at 6:30 to bring our bags down to a luggage truck (which created a lot of drama because it didn't end up coming) and then have breakfast before heading down to the ferry port to catch the ferry to the South Island. The ferry was 3 and a half hours long and most people slept for at least part of it! When we got off the ferry we got on a different Contiki bus and drove for another few hours to get to Hanmer Springs. We stopped along the way and saw a whole bunch of baby seals which were sooo cute!

When we got to Hanmer Springs we had free tickets to go into hot pools there so we spent about an hour in those before getting some dinner and then having a chill group night back at the hotel with a few drinks and a decently early night!
